The 6th of December marked a significant day for Fry Fry Media (SL) Limited and a wonderful close to the year 2023, as they signed a Broadcast Partnership with Voice of America (VOA), a renowned and respected global media organization. This partnership is a testament to the reputation and credibility that Fry Fry has built in the media industry in Sierra Leone since it opened its doors on the 4th of January 2022. It also reflects their commitment to providing their audience with high-quality content and staying at the forefront of the ever-evolving media landscape. Additionally, this partnership will further solidify Fry Fry’s position as a leading media organization in Sierra Leone and will also provide Fry Fry with access to the latest technology and trends in the field of broadcasting and journalism.
As part of this partnership, the Fry Fry Media team was invited to participate in a media training program from the 11th of December until the 13th of December 2023. This program, hosted by U.S.A Agency for Global Media (USAGM)/Voice of America (VOA), focused on enhancing the understanding and practical application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the realm of Mobile Journalism among journalists and editors. The purpose of this training was to enable media teams to produce high-quality and innovative content for their listeners, keeping them engaged and informed. The training was attended by Fry Fry representatives, Saidu Kanu (Studio and Quality Assurance Supervisor) and Ibrahim Kargbo (Radio Personality/Visual Editor).
The partnership also brought about an exciting visit from the Voice of America team, including Joseph Katachie (The Regional Marketing Representative for Francophone West and Central Africa). Inspired by the work of Fry Fry, the team could not leave without visiting Fry Fry Media’s HQ studio in Aberdeen to meet with the General Manager, Brigitte Dalton-Sesay. This visit further solidified the partnership and showcased the mutual respect and admiration between the two organizations. By working together, the two organizations can amplify their impact and reach a larger and more diverse audience.
The decision to enter into this partnership was driven by Fry Fry’s desire to create long-term relationships with reputable institutions and to build on their vision. These partnerships will not only benefit Fry Fry but also create opportunities for their staff such as learning opportunities to enhance their skill set and contribute to their professional development, and exchange programs.
As part of their goals as content providers, Fry Fry will also be partnering with similar institutions to share their content on various platforms. This will not only expand the reach of these institutions to places like Sierra Leone but also empower and motivate listeners by providing them with diverse and enriching content.
In conclusion, the signing of the Broadcast Partnership with Voice of America is a significant milestone for Fry Fry Media and is part of their commitment to continuous growth and improvement. The team at Fry Fry is excited about this partnership and looks forward to the opportunities and achievements it will bring in the future. This partnership truly marks the beginning of a new era for Fry Fry Media and its audience.
